
Can YOU endure SILENCE?
That sounds dramatic…ENDURE silence.
Some may find silence intolerable, so “endure” may be an apt word choice.
Whether or not YOU experience silence with any sort of regularity, likely relates to your willingness to feel discomfort.
The question then becomes:
Are YOU WILLING to experience SILENCE?
If, more often than not, the answer is NO, I invite the follow up question…
What’s That About?
I witness many people who continuously play music, a podcast, or turn on the TV, when any potential for silence presents itself. In the car, in the kitchen, on a walk, or in bed.
If we are honest with ourselves when asking the question, “What’s That About?”, the answer MAY be that we are fearful of what may arise within, if we sit in silence with our thoughts.
This MAY be a real concern and yet burying oneself in noise can create incoherence in oneself, especially if we are not conscious of the messaging being played to cover up the silence.
Programming The Subconscious Mind
I hear people say, “I’ll just put something on in the background.” I used to do this too while studying for exams, just play music in my headphones “so I could concentrate better”.
It was not until recent years, that I learned this idea of playing something in the background is the PERFECT way to Program Our Subconscious Mind.
When our CONSCIOUS focus is placed on something else, such as studying, preparing dinner, driving, etc., the door into the SUBCONSCIOUS mind becomes WIDE OPEN to be programmed with whatever messaging is being put forth.
The subconscious mind picks up on repetitive content and especially short phrases or words.
As I started learning these ideas, I began listening to music in a different way. I notice many of the repetitive course lyrics in the songs I used to listen to a lot, are not messages I actually want programming my mind.
As an example, the song, “Life”, by Our Lady Peace, has a very repetitive phrase about Life… “it’s all messed up.”
I prefer to realize, Life is a teacher.
While the intention of this paragraph is not to deter you from listening to what has been some of your favourite music over this life, the intention IS to bring more AWARENESS to what we allow to program our subconscious mind. Not only music, but ANY information we subject our minds to.
This is one of the Conscious 4 Cs. We can Consciously CHOOSE how we Condition our minds and it is an empowering realization!
Silence In Nature
A beautiful aspect of sitting in the Silence of Nature, is it allows our minds an opportunity to declutter, without having any additional man-made programs/ideas being infused into the psyche.

The Silence of Nature gives space to hear the whispers of our Souls.
The more we cultivate Silence into our daily lives, the more we are able to Remember our True Self and live life in LOVE.
